World Languages
Curriculum Night 2023 Video
Welcome! The World Languages Department goal is to develop oral proficiency in the modern languages while instilling an awareness and appreciation of the cultures.
Modern Language Courses at all levels follow the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages. Also known as the 5 C's, the Standards Goal areas are: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. For more information, see the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages.
Students must earn at least 3 credits in one foreign language to meet the graduation requirement. It is recommended that students continue in higher level language courses. These upper level courses also satisfy the one-credit fine arts requirement.
There are many opportunities to participate in clubs, competitions, and travel.
